ACKERS ADVENTURE / MIDLAND SKI CLUB

Midland Ski Club provides Coaching, Holidays, Racing and Social events for skiers in the Mid-lands and beyond. Our main base is in Birmingham, where we use Ackers Adventure in Small Heath Tuesday, Thursday and Friday evenings each week, 6-9pm. We also train at the Snowsports Centre in Swadlincote each Wednesday under the banner Midland Arrows.

In the Winter we run our Club Championships followed by a monthly series of races at The Ackers for entry level racers upwards, and for all ages. In 2019-20, ages ranged from 4 to 70 and over 120 racers took part.

We have many active racers at all levels, and most weekends throughout the summer will see us travelling the country for various races, and some are lucky/good enough to race on snow too. We organise a Club National race each summer and take part in local race leagues.

Annually, we normally run three ski holidays, on two of which we provide coaching from the club's qualified instructors. We also organise a camp at Snowworld, Landgraaf, in July.

Our Social events include talks on outdoor topics, normally held at Hollyfields Sports and Conference Centre, Erdington, walks, barbecues and weekends away.

Established in 1965 and affiliated to Snowsport England, we are Snowmark accredited and have around 300 members.
